What is Algorithmic Bias?

Algorithmic bias refers to systematic and repeatable errors in a computer system that create unfair outcomes, such as privileging one arbitrary group of users over others. These biases are often unintended consequences of the data used to train AI and machine learning models, or the design choices made during their development.

Imagine a recipe. If the ingredients are skewed – too much salt, not enough flour – the final dish will be unbalanced.
